Ocean to Ocean in a T

The Centennial of the 1909 Ocean to Ocean Endurance Contest

We set out at 7:20 AM from Pocatello and after 202 miles (per the GPS) we arrived at Twin Falls, ID at 4:30 PM. This is the first run with our borrowed 1912 engine installed and we are taking it quite easy, but it performed flawlessly! Glad of that. We WILL make it to Seattle!
One highlight of today's run was our lunch stop in a little burg with population of 504. The tiny diner with one cook/cashier (Sue) was overwhelmed as 40 or so of us stopped for a burger, fries and a coke. But our ladies pitched in behind the counter and helped pour soda, pass out the food and collect our $8.00, including tip. Sue was pleased with our help and everyone was served in quick time and then were on our way. Our Shilo Inns Hotel is very plush, but some drivers were confronted (can you say ticketed?) by the local police when they made errant turns in a confusing construction zone in front of the lobby. Hopefully these issues will be amicably resolved when all is said and done.
I can't believe this "Trip of a Lifetime" will be over in 1 week.

Glad to hear you ar back on the road again. We continue to follow the trip and enjoy the blogs, pictures, and of course, Katie's videos.

Our prayers are with you to make the rest of your journey safely and with no breakdowns. Also, that you have good weather. Best wishes to reach Seattle this weekend.
