Ocean to Ocean in a T

The Centennial of the 1909 Ocean to Ocean Endurance Contest

Left Goodland before 6 AM and traveled in three states today; and a real bonus for Bob was Nebraska. Weather started out cool(er) and was pleasurable for all of the days route. We were surprised at the sight of the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies with their 14,000 peaks covered with snow! These were the first such mountains we have seen since leaving the Catskills in NY state. Arrived at the Marriot in Ft. Collins around 3:30 Mountain time and checked in. The reception provided by Jim and Carol Sanford was GREAT! Plenty of peeled shrimp and dip and margaritas!!! Thanks much from CT, Carol & Jim. Well done. Katie provided a compilation of her videos on a flat screen which was enjoyed by all over the din of lively conversation. Bob met with several of his high school classmates from 50 years ago and gave them rides in the "T". Monday was a needed rest day and found many taking time to do laundry, visit the local Ford dealership for oil changes and food, or working on their cars. My disappointment was loosing my blue O-2-O jacket someplace or it flew out of the car. I called several hotels' lost and found, but no find. If anyone has seen it, please let me know.

We've been following you along the way and look forward to the pictures and blogs each night. We are enjoying Katie's videos too. We finally got to be a "member" - tried since the trip started. Glad to see you are doing well and hope the rest of your trip goes the same. We remembered going to FT Collins and how windy it was when we drove there from Estes Park when we did the Colorado tour.
You have some pretty long driving days. See you soon. Best wishes from CT
