Another nice drive through Michigan and into Indiana.  But I must say that Michigan has some of the worst roads I’ve ever been on.  We hit some really bad pot holes along the way in lots of different towns.  Traveling over train tracks is also challenging and bumpy.  We passed the Michigan Speedway along the route.  And in one town met a fellow O2O traveler from 10 years ago.  Arrived at our hotel early in the afternoon and took the opportunity to do our first laundry.  When it was my turn I…See More

This site is primarily for drivers, copilots, and support personnel for the ocean to ocean run. Friends do not need to be members in order to view content. Please indicate year and model car and relative association to this event.
I will be driving my red 1912 Touring and navigated ( and hopefully, sometimes driven ) by my wife, Barbara. She was disappointed in missing out accompanying me in 2009 and has anticipated this journey from its initial concept. She is a very enthusiastic Model-T participant and a proven reliable direction-following navigator. Following along our route will be my brother Ray and his wife, Linda, hauling my closed trailer for the trip home. It will afford us all the opportunity to see the country in both directions.

Dearborn Day 2

Drove all around Detroit to see Ford sites like the Highland Park factory and the old Sales Department building.  Just viewed them from the outside since the factory building is mainly storage now and the sales building is run down and boarded up.  Went to the Piquette factory where the Model T was born.  Our car wasn’t built there - it was built at the Highland Park factory.  Piquette has many Model T’s from all years and even Ford cars that came before the Model T.  Went to the cemetery…

Dearborn

Arrived in Dearborn yesterday after driving all day in intermittent rain.  We didn’t get wet as long as we kept moving and our stuff in the back seat stayed dry under an old shower curtain.  The car was a mess when we got here and required some TLC once we checked into our hotel.  Today was sunny and warm and polishing brass was the first order of business for the day.  Spent the day at Greenfield Village at the Henry Ford.  Their garage did an oil change for us.  We provided the oil and…

The 6th O-2-O Reunion Tour was GREAT!

Thanks to you Dom, your tour will be most memorable for many reasons. You made it both fun and interesting in the driving tours and seeing the sights in and around Chattanooga. I had no idea that Coker Tire and Honest Charlie's were both located in Chattanooga. It was also nice to meet your daughter and son-in-law.
Once again, many thanks for your efforts and we look forward to our next meeting. Will keep you posted on next year's tour in New York.

We passed the stadium where the Buffalo Bills play. Total mileage so far three days 500+ miles since leaving Tarrytown New York.

Day #1is behind us with a little rain but smooth driving of our 107 year old Model-T. It is now parked in our “blue garage” (tarp) for the nite. Met club friends along the way and got to know new participants as well as those repeating this trip from 10 years ago. Much socializing and checking each others’s cars out. Long driving day tomorrow, 175 miles, and crossing the Hudson on the Dunn Memorial bridge before arriving at our next destination in Utica/New Hartford, NY. Good nite.
