Our trip so far

Have been staying very busy with the "race", have not had very much time to write anything. Yesterday we drove from Goodland, KS to Fort Collins, CO was a very pretty drive although we had to drive through a pretty strong head wind for about 30 miles, slowed us down a bit. Had our first view of the mountains. The weather has improve greatly from Kansas were we had 104 degrees heat with high humidity. Made for very long drives. Many thanks to the Piquette T group and T-plex

Tonight we were hosted by the Piquette T group at the famous factory on Piquette avenue in Detroit. I can't descibe the effort put forth by this group to make us feel welcome. The presentation given by the grandson of 1909 race driver Bert Scott was moving and entertaining. Steve Shotwell did a termendous amount of work organizing the days activities and we were all very impressed with the displays and restoration progress being made at Piquette. No time to post, fixing cars for the tour

Yesterday we completed the new top for the Mortensen entry and he picked it up. Tonight I was working with Tim johnson to assemble the rear axle for his entry. I am also in the middle of rebuilding the ruxstell axle for the Wertz-Monihan entry. Hopefully I will have time to test drive our entry this weekend.MarkSee More
