Forty years ago I was introduced to the wonderful world of Model T's by Ballard Phleager of Salem, Virginia. I was a freshman at Roanoke College. I came out of the local pharmacy and spotted a 1920 Model T touring owned by Ballard. The T was Ballard's everyday driver. Ballard and I became very good friends. Everyday after class I would go to his little back alley garage and help him rebuild Model… Continue
Hello Jon: Good pictures, and of course we have heard the 'snow' news. I think you have surpassed our snow (about 4 feet so far) this year (average for Anch is about 6 feet by spring). I would not have guessed that Virginia could look so much like home:). Here is to warm sun and melting snow.
Hello Jon: All is well I trust. The local car club, Antique Auto Mushers of Alaska, has asked me for a presentation. Is it possible to obtain a copy of the short version that Kathryn is preparing for you? We are very eager to have the multiple CD set, but that would be a tad long for a meeting presentation. Thank you, and a wonderful Thanksgiving to you and all.
Thanks! I hate to miss anyone, but people were trading places here and there and I lost track.
Did you want a DVD for your talk? If so,let me know how many photos and the theme.
Happy Thanksgiving! Kathryn
I am still editing the photos for the DVD set. Peter Bernhardt and I met in Virginia last week to arrange a recording session with a technician. Once I receive their CD of the music I'll be able to edit that and then send the DVDs [a set of 3] for processing. So, I really can't predict the timeline yet. I'm sorry the whole job s taking so long, but it will be a good quality product when it is complete.
On another topic, I am hosting a get together of O to O Virginia residents and their families on 12/27/09 in Charlottesville. I've ordered invitations and reserved a room at the Royal Indian Restaurant on Route 29, 3450 Seminole Trail Suite 101-102 for 6:00 pm. The price per person will be $25.00. I'd love to put the invitations up on the wed site. How do I do that?
Hello Jon: Say, if I recall correctly, there were some posters in Ellensburg (at the railroad station) that we supposed to be able to obtain. Several people gave address information on a flip chart in Snoqualme Pass Lodge. Have you heard anything about them?
Hello Jon: Doug had to fly back to New York for some work related stuff and left his car in my care. We watch it closely and take if for a short drive every couple or three days just to be sure all is still working properly. When he is ready to resume his travels, we expect to deliver the car to be shipped to Seattle. In the mean time, it sure looks good parked at our place!!
now that we are home, and have some time to reflect. I can look back and remember the help that you gave us ,while crossing the country.
You had electrical connections to get my new alternator up and running. you also had emergency brake springs when mine broke. and I inheatited your old inner tubes ,with dura beads inside. I patched it and will use it when I mount new "driver tires".
It was fun. Hope to see you at Hershey.
