1925 Roadster Pickup
We are represeniting the state of Colorado on this tour. We are hosting the half-way party in Fort Collins, CO on June 28. Carol has had a few old cars, but her little red roadster pickup Model T is her present pride and joy. We have done other long distance tours, i.e., the 75th running of this tour in 1984 (New York to Seattle), a real learning experience, and the Ford Centennial from Los Angleles to Dearborn in 2003.
Living in the west we do not get east to many International tours (and am life member #64), but have done at least 6, the first one in Kissimmee, FL in 1980. We have run the gambit of antique cars, and other tours include London to Brighton in 1990, and the ACD Hoosier tour in our 1931 Boattail Auburn for our honeymoon in 1990. "Must love old cars!"

We arrived in Dearborn today, Thursday, June 18, to complete day 5. Day 1 started in White Plains, NY and went to City Hall in NYC, then traveling to West Point for the night. Our car was running, but not well, and since all the festivities (send off ceremony at City Hall, pictures, etc.) in NYC were cancelled due to Puerto Rican Day, we (and several others) decided to bypass into and out of the city and just go up to West Point. We arrived early enough to do a tour of West Point and generally… Continue

Hi Jim: My e-mail is fowler@ak.net. I certainly will give serious thought to your thoughts. You noted that they were cock-eyed. Was that an installation issue or are they flawed? Milt has small drum brakes of a similar nature on the Ford 2 car and he said that his worked well wet, dry and in reverse. Do you know anything about his? The large drum Rockeys currently on the car work OK, but I do not like having to shim the axel in order to provide clearence in the inside of the small drum, and they don't look that great either. We are expecting to go to Hershey this year, another first for us. Hope to see you there!!

Thanks,
Barry

Hello Jim & Carol: I hear that you are no longer using your small drum accessory brakes. My 15, as you may have noticed, has large drum Rocky Mountains. I would prefer small drum brakes on this car. If you are willing to let your brakes go, I am interested.

It was a pleasure meeting both of you, we had a wonderful time. I also recently saw your pictures of the 15 Runabout that you drove in 1984. Fun cars aren't they??

Thanks again,
Barry

Jim,

I spoke to Bill just after you picked them up. I've ordered a set for my daughters roadster. It was great to meet you and Carol and I hope we cross paths again, my friend.

Have a great day,
Dom

What an unbelievable small world we live in. I was made aware of this "connection" only days ago. Nancy (Walters) and my wife, Nancy, are connected all the time through high school alumni activity which is where I first learned of this coincidence. Although I know Carl, I knew his brother much better. Unfortunately, Bill recently passed away. I too look forward to meeting you guys and hope that Nancy comes to your party.
Bob
