Message from the UK

Hi folks. I have just returned from the AGM of the Model 'T' Ford Register of Great Britain. I was very pleased to witness the Brooklands Award (a huge old silver cup) go to Peter MacAlister for his undeterred and concentrated involvement in the 020. Peter, as many of you will know, got immersed in the pure mechanics of keeping many 'T' vehicles (and owners!) going; right from day one, to the very end! As one who received hours of his very patient and skilled help, I could only applaud the loude… Continue

Histeria at Hesperia!

At last I have had contact with Peter and Ian. I received this Email from Ian this morning. "Hi folks! At last a chance to get on t'internet. At the home of a friend of Peter's in a town called Hesperia, just north of Los Angeles. Initially this was not on my anticipated route but it seems to be working well as we have covered well over 1,000 miles now. Car is running well - thanks entirely to Peter - I just do the map reading etc...as there is no way I am going to drive the kind of terrain that… Continue

Two Brits have returned to USA - the 'T' bug has bitten!

We are all sorry to hear about your brother, Doug, and we hope all goes well for you and your family.
Peter MacAlister and Ian Evans have flown from the UK to Seattle and have kidnapped the 'T' of Dolph Cramer (it was parked in the showroom of Evergreen Ford!) and with Dolph's blessing, are going to drive it all the way to Florida.
With any luck, and if there is enough interest, I can update the blog with their progress or lack of it! They do not have a fixed route or itinerary, and I for one, a… Continue

Harriet is having a well earned rest!

I can only echo the sentiments of Kathleen and Gary Ebbert's blog. We have had the privelege to travel with them and know them as good friends now. The last day and evening were quite emotional, and the farewells were difficult. Friends and travelling companions scattered far and wide. Promises to stay in touch made and addresses exchanged. Thank-you to one and all for making this epic trip both successful and memorable. This morning, Mick Kemp (he of the 1925 Crusty Loaf van) and myself drove t… Continue

Issaquah by Harriet

Howdy folks! Yup! We made it from Yakima to Snoqualmie Pass after a day of Washington's finest welcomes and if you read Kathleen and Gary Ebbert's blog you will have a full record of the day. To day, we left the Summit Lodge at 10 am and went to a lunch (salmon bar be que) by the Snoqualmie Tribe (native Indians) and then onto Issaquah. We are here for 3 nights, and on Sunday we go into Seattle for the final run and a parade and then the final Banquet in the evening and the sad good-byes. I cann… Continue

Hi Guys & Gals! You see, I am trying to sound like my American cousins already! Probably making a hash of it as well! So, this event eh? Very exciting and lots to organise! I will post a photo or two in the next day or two, when I have the patience to do it, unless I get my son or daughter to show me! Kids are so much more Hi tech than us aren't they? i'm not so much Low Tech as No Tech! That's why I am hoping to make lots of friends with you crazy USA folks who know more about Model 'T' Fords than ol' Henry himself! Because when I get my car and myself over to Stateside I will very likely need lots of help and guidance! There are only 5 'Foreigners' on the O2O, so I'll be easy to spot. My car is a 2 seater and it is white. Don't suppose there will be too many white cars on the Run? I have more things to organise than you USA folks and I think more things to organise than the other 4 Foreigners. I'll tell you why When and If I get it all together! By the way, I took the initiative(you Folks like Folks who do that don't you?) and contacted a TV production Company here in the UK with bare details of the O2O and I understand that they have got the film rights from John McLaren and are going to follow us from New York to Seattle and make a film of us all! How about that then? Well that's enough of me prattling on. By the way, I am 58, and a car enthusiast. What more information do you need?!! Cheers for now, Jeremy.
